Original Artworks The Swallow No.1

The Swallow No.1

$450.00

The Swallow No.1

Watercolor and 14 kt gold leaf painting

9 × 12 inches (this painting has no border or margin. the painting is bleed)

Arches Cold Press Vintage Watercolor paper, 2025

This watercolor painting was my landmark painting that triggered my new series of artworks. I also like how swallows have been a symbol of home and oncoming change. For many years the Swallow was considered the symbol of oncoming spring. Weather was predicted on swallows’ behavior. If they flew low it meant rain; flying high meant good weather -There is some truth to that as low pressure centers, which bring bad weather, are harder for birds to fly in.

Farmers welcomed the arrival of swallows as the birds were thought to bring good fortune to the farm and protected farm animals from diseases.

This is the Original Painting. It comes wrapped, sealed and signed. Gift wrapped upon request. This painting comes unframed.
