One of my favorite things about living in Colorado is watching the landscape change with the seasons and seeing what decides to bloom next.
Rocky Mountain Wildflowers brings together some of the flowers that make our mountains and meadows feel like home. Columbine, Indian paintbrush, lupine, fireweed, yarrow, asters, and black-eyed Susans grow together in a loose little gathering, each painted individually but allowed to overlap and wander the way wildflowers actually do.
I wanted this painting to feel a little like collecting flowers on a walk without ever having to pick them. A small piece of a Colorado summer that gets to stay in bloom all year.
The original 16 × 20 inch watercolor has sold and is no longer available, but Rocky Mountain Wildflowers is available in three small, limited-edition print sizes: 8 × 10, 11 × 14, and 16 × 20 inches. Once each edition is gone, it will not be reprinted.
