The Champion of Change Print
Because of the way these original paintings are created and the materials used, the prints from this series are produced as special limited editions.
Each artwork is printed as a museum-quality fine art giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) on beautiful German Hahnemühle paper, a premium archival paper known for its rich surface and exceptional longevity.
The paper itself is one of my favorite parts of the print. It has a soft, buttery texture and a substantial weight, very thick and sturdy (similar to the thickness of cereal box packaging), which makes it a dream to frame and display. Each image is printed in limited editions of 25. Once an edition sells out, no additional prints will be produced.
This series is very special to me, and it was important that the prints carry the same level of care, quality, and presence as the original paintings. This original watercolor painting is part of my Year of the Fire Horse series, a body of work exploring transformation, instinct, and the many ways change begins.
Each print is signed in numerical order, editioned and packed with care. Paintings that originally have the gold leaf added will also be added to the print itself.
Available in the Following Sizes: 8×10, 11 × 14 and 16×20
Painted on Somerset watercolor paper, this piece portrays Night as a child, riding her Fire Horse with the fearless imagination that belongs to childhood. In her world, the horse is not bound by reality. Through ornamentation and playful transformation, she has turned the Fire Horse into a unicorn, a creature of possibility and wonder.
Children often meet the world without hesitation. In this moment, Night rides forward without fear, embodying the earliest spark of courage that eventually grows into real change. The unicorn becomes a symbol of belief, imagination, and the quiet conviction that transformation is possible.
The painting is finished with gold leaf accents in the stars and in the bridle of the horse, adding subtle luminosity and emphasizing the magical, dreamlike atmosphere of the scene.
This painting was inspired by my daughters, Daphne and Hannah, whose creativity and openness remind me that imagination is often the first step toward meaningful change.
Created with fluid watercolor washes and luminous pigments, the piece celebrates childhood imagination, bravery, and the playful beginnings of transformation.
