The Hunters Moon

from $50.00

This editioned giclée print is taken from an original watercolor painting, reimagined in the deep, rich blues of a cyanotype. It captures the Hunter's Moon rising over Mount Garfield in Palisade, Colorado, the same full moon that inspired our A Court Night event.

Traditionally, October's Hunter's Moon marks the changing of the seasons, when autumn begins giving way to winter and the natural world prepares for the colder months ahead. There is something magical about this time of year, especially when the moon rises over the familiar landscape of the Grand Valley.

For this piece, I wanted to explore the contrast between the brilliant light of the full moon and the quiet darkness of the landscape below. Delicate Colorado wildflowers frame Mount Garfield beneath a luminous night sky, all brought together in the beautiful monochromatic blues of a cyanotype-inspired illustration.

It's a painting about the magic of familiar places, the changing seasons, and the little moments that remind us to look up and appreciate the world around us.
